You can also find a list of selected publications here (pdf) Stefania Römisch was born in Torino, Italy. She received her Ph.D. in Electronic Instrumentation in 1998, from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. In 1996-97, she developed a novel pre-scaled clock recovery for high bit rate OTDM (Optical Time Domain Multiplexing) systems (US Patent pending, EU Patent granted). In 1998-99 she was a Guest Researcher at NIST (National Institute for Standards and Technology) in Boulder, CO. In 2000 she joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, to work with Prof. Z. Popovic on the development of a prototype under NASA contract; during this time she also obtained funding renewal and received an Excellence Award. In 2002 she also received the URSI (Union Radio-Scientifique International) Young Scientist Award. She then founded Spectral Research, an engineering firm with a strong emphasis on research and development funded through various government-sponsored programs, such as the Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) for which several proposals have been written. Spectral Research also provides high quality engineering services, ranging from calibration of frequency sources (with traceability to national standards) to the legal aspects of metrology and engineering in law enforcement. Her research interests are: low noise microwave oscillators and amplifiers, high-efficiency amplifiers, microwave design, analysis of noise processes and noise measurement systems; antenna design, antenna arrays for GPS applications and communications in hostile environments; positioning system and synchronization; optoelectronic systems and frequency metrology. |
